Nota

How to use Nota

The agent doing the work saves it — it knows best what it made. Nothing is saved unless you type /nota (in the Codex CLI: $nota).

First time? Set it up in three steps

Everyday

  • /notaSave what you just made; the agent looks at your folders to pick a place, or leaves it in the inbox with a suggestion
  • /nota get 27 do step 2 firstWork from one of your files: its number (the #27 beside it), then what to do; a title or a Nota link someone sent works too
  • /nota edit 27 make question 3 easierChange a saved file; it becomes its next version
  • /nota listList what you have saved
  • /nota share design team 7 daysMake a read-only share link to a file: anyone with the link, the latest version and 7 days by default; or with a passcode; or only for some people, signed in
  • @In Claude Code, type @ to hand the agent one of your recent Nota files

Advanced

  • /nota api Next Stock/APIsSave as one kind, into one folder (here: an API, into Next Stock / APIs)
  • /nota weeklyWrite by your template “weekly” (your templates are under Templates)
  • /nota save-as-template weeklySave what you just made as the template “weekly”
  • /nota feedbackGo through the feedback on your share links, then make the next version; what it deals with is marked resolved
  • /nota tidyLet the agent tidy up: merge duplicates, file things away, archive what's untouched; you tick what to apply on the web, and can undo for 7 days
  • /nota helpThis page

Agents only file into folders that exist and ask before making one. A file with the same title already in that folder gets a new version instead of a second copy.

In a terminal

The same words without the slash: nota list, nota get 27.

  • nota upload report.pdfUpload a file from this computer (a PDF, a spreadsheet, an image…) as a file of its own
  • nota updateGet the latest nota; /nota tells you when yours is too old
  • nota helpEvery command

You don’t type nota save yourself: when you type /nota, the agent writes the file and runs it.
